Environmental Protection Practices

Environmental protection is more then a catch phrase or buzzword, it is a group of methods designed around protecting our eco-systems.

Wikpedia gives the following definition for environmental protection:

Environmental protection is the practice of protecting the natural environment by individuals, organizations and governments. Its objectives are to conserve natural resources and the existing natural environment and, where possible, to repair damage and reverse trends.

Fairly broad and not nearly as comprehensive as it should be. Let's dive in to the full extent of environmental protection and what we as individuals and businesses can do to help protect our planet.

Let's start with a short list of things you can do to help protect the environment and make for a sustainable future.

  • Reduce, reuse, and recycle. Cut down on what you throw away. Follow the three "R's" to conserve natural resources and landfill space.
  • Volunteer. Volunteer for cleanups in your community. You can get involved in protecting your watershed, too.
  • Educate. When you further your own education, you can help others understand the importance and value of our natural resources.
  • Conserve water. The less water you use, the less runoff and wastewater that eventually end up in the ocean.
  • Choose sustainable. Learn how to make smart seafood choices at www.fishwatch.gov.
  • Shop wisely. Buy less plastic and bring a reusable shopping bag. (Plastic can take 200 years to bio-degrade in a landfill)
  • Use long-lasting light bulbs. Energy efficient light bulbs reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Also flip the light switch off when you leave the room!
  • Get your air purified EnviroKlenz | Mobile Air System (standard)
  • Don't send chemicals into our waterways. Choose non-toxic chemicals in the home and office. EnviroKlenz | Technology
  • Bike more. Drive less.

  • Finally be environmentally conscious in your energy consumption. Solar is coming down and becoming more affordable and one of the leading companies that can help you to: Reduce Or Eliminate Your Monthly Electric Bill With Solar Panels - Shop GoGreenSolar.com

Remember the second thing on this list was to volunteer. We think that is a great way to help out and protect our environment for generations to come so we have a Get Involved program that will hook you up with like minded environmentall conscientious people in your area. If you are interested in this program Please Follow This Link and get started today.

To be a true advocate of environmental protection we must also discuss the way we use the resources and the choices we make of resources to use.

As an example ask your self if their is anything in your life that you could use less of or not at all. If we were all honest with ourselves we would all have to answer YES.

Right now the top five environmental issues are:

With the current administrations push to help big business it is not likely that any of these things will be addressed soon. In fact we have gone backwards. A trend that will continue for some time. We cannot stay on this path and have any hope of a future for our children or their children. It is this generation that has to make a significant change in our methods. We must lead by example We as individuals and businesses have to step up and do our part. We can help in this endeavour. If our voice is loud enough we can have an impact. It is the squeaky wheel that gets oiled.
