We can practice conserving water, gas, food, energy, soil and a whole host of other things we use in our daily lives.

Let's start with water conservation. You definitley use that everyday and probably don't even realize all the common sense ways you can conserve this resource.

  • Check water faucets for leaks
  • Take five minute showers
  • Sweep your driveway intead of wash it.
  • Water your lawn in the evening
  • Keep a pitcher of water in the fridge.

This is just a short list of things you can do on a daily basis. Here is a larger list For a complete list with an explanation of each item Download our PDF on water conservation.

Soil Conservation

Their are many ways we can conserve our soil. All are important and most have to do with our farming techniques. This first list is primarily directed at farming methods but we will also cover soil consevation at home.

We will also cover conservation in the workplace such as paper use and your procurement processes

You can see several ways to apply soil conservation at home and how even a little care can help protect you own eco-system

As a rule common sense should prevail and as always if you are an economical person conservation comes naturally.

Below is a short list of things you can do to promote general conservation, environmental protection and sustainability. If you visit our Environmental Protection page you will see a full explanation of these steps.

  • Reduce, Re-use, Recycle
  • Volunteer
  • Educate
  • Conserve Water
  • Choose Sustainable
  • Shop Wisely
  • Use Energy Efficient Light Bulbs
  • Plant A Tree
  • Don't Use Chemicals
  • Walk Or Bike

In the business community conservation falls more along the lines of sustainability and our Sustainability Page covers this topic in a more thorough manner. Practicing business conservation starts with your methods and your employees. It means better procurement processes and a concerted effort to use the resources allocated wisely. Unfortunately most large companies budget by department and most departments use all the money allocated so they don't end up with less money in the next quarter. A bad practice from start to finish.
